Make sure you pick the right length for your height. Pity you did not submit some of your favorite looks. If you need something to cover your legs, opt for black leggings or dark-wash skinny jeans.
For the below right look, I was actually inspired by the photos of the Guo Pei show , as one of the pictures highlights a big upstanding collar.
The top below is the closest I could get to achieve that look. I also have a silk pink a-line skirt I like. If your skirt is wide enough you can actually wear it in many creative ways as I show here. Here is some more inspirations from my fashion inspiration colour pinboard. I love the great color combinations and prints of these skirts. Kay Kerns also sent in this fabulous collage of how she would interpret the runway look for herself.
I hope you are convinced by now that runways looks can be translated in such a way that they can work for you! A full skirt is one of my favorite pieces. Pity you did not submit some of your favorite looks. You are the master of the a-line skirt! SO many great outfits! I really like that white skirt of yours with the tricky belt loops and short black sweater that Greetje used to transform a dress. This was fun, as always, and I look forward to the next dressing challenge.
You were so right to put that picture of Heather at the top. I like all of them, which is logical as this way of dressing suits my body so well. And all ladies who are showing their interpretations are very good stylists. Alice has combined this blouse perfectly with that skirt. I had seen a different combination which I was not so fond of, but this looks great.
The pattern of the skirt is so nice with the whirls of the blouse and very cute shoes. As for your outfits….. I also had a look at your pink skirt. I especially like the outfit with one knot 2 pictures. Just the right length top beautiful top , with that added colour of the belt. And you are right wearing your black and white ruffled blouse with that skirt. By accident I had seen that blouse again when you did your post about Guo Pei and thought the same as you did.
Referring to your last sentence, is not that a great example of how a fashion show can inspire your own outfits! Thanks again for participating. They all translate the look very well. And I agree with Greetje the first picture is gorgeous, like one of a magazine editorial.
What a great look on you! I guess the trick is finding the right skirt for my body. Great to hear it SE. Yes definitely give the a-skirt a try. This bottom piece is very functional and eye-catchy, so you better combine it with your favorite tops and cover-ups. I would say this style is not the best option for everyday looks, but once you look at these street style images, I am pretty sure you gonna change your mind.
This look is ideal for spring and summer wear, so you better go for the one that is lush and airy. That's a stunning look that consists of a buttoned light yellow top tucked in dark blue knife-pleated skirt. My personal advice to every lady who is now reading this is NOT to overload the outfit. Of course, if you are a skinny and tall girl, then you might go for different kind of styles, by combining voluminous tops with lush skirts, but we all are different.
You can keep it relaxed and casual by teaming your bottom with an awesome black aviator jacket, black tee, light beige skirt, black tights, booties and oversized sunglasses. Keep it sexy and go for a lace top tucked in navy pleated midi skirt cinched at the waist with a skinny belt. If you have a slim top and curvy bottom body, then pleated skirt might cover and hide some unwanted to see areas. How about an eye-catching outfit?
We see a black shirt with white polka dots tucked in A-line mini, pleated navy skirt. If you have a curvy top, then pleated skirt will for sure balance the whole look. Keep the top light. Indeed, it's better to choose light fabrics and lightweight silhouettes. My personal favorites are the skirts with beautiful waistband. Just look at the images where ladies appear in gorgeous shirts tucked in these eye-catching bottoms.
